Product Description The Sony HT-DDWG700 home theater system offers a great value in an optimum home theater. This 5.1 A/V receiver with 900 watts (RMS) and comes with an included iPod Digital Media Port (DMP) dock. This system is complemented with high quality 2-way front speakers and 8" active subwoofer. This system is equipped with the DMP interface and provides control for one of Sony's DMP accessories (additional accessories sold separately). In addition to DMP, the Portable Audio Enhancer integrates portable music into a traditional home theater system while providing enhanced audio quality. Finally, it is XM Connect & Play ready so you can listen to all the exciting stations available through XM satellite radio.

Great sound! December 26, 2008 Greg C. (WA State) I have had mine for almost a year and am very happy with it. The sound quality for the price is outstanding! I have my Sony Bravia and DVR connected to it through a optical splitter to the system. The optical input only works as the "satellite" connection so the labeling is off but I don't care.
Great for the price December 23, 2008 Richard Greenhalgh (Wimberley, TX USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
For under two hundred bucks it's hard to beat this system. I bought it for a bedroom and it's outstanding in that application. I did upgrade the center channel speaker with a KLH and it made all the difference in the world, next I plan on a 10" or 12" powered sub and I'll never get any sleep. The 900 watt rating is a bit optimistic (it has to be peak and not RMS), but it will still rattle the walls. For less than the price of the center channel speaker alone, in my living room system, this is a great buy and the security of dealing with Amazon makes it all the better.
Amazing System!!! November 7, 2008 Michael E. Aleprete (Pittsburgh, PA USA) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is an amazing home theater system. Forget all the negative reviews here. This home theater does it's job right. Greast sound. Great construction...and an unbeliveable sub-woofer. You will think you are sitting in a multiplex. AND THE PRICE...WOW!!! With discount coupons, I got this system at a major chain for only $145. It compares to a more expensive system costing twice as much. Go out and buy it now before they are all gone. You will love it!
Worth the price September 26, 2008 Technology Developer (Florida) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
It's worth the price and adds good surround sound to your system! I bought a SONY BRAVIA LCD and a SONY BluRay so I needed a surround system at a bargain. I am pleased with it, but it doesn't have buttons for radio stations and it's difficult to change stations with the remote. You can use the ONE remote for the SONY TV, BluRay and AV, but the buttons are tiny and you have to learn them. Overall, I got what I expected, a good surround/receiver at a GREAT price and much cheaper than buying the receiver and speakers!
Nice system for the mone September 11, 2008 A. Platoff (Jersey City, NJ United States) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
So far the only unfortunate finding has been the Sony wires which are low grade and hard wired o each speaker. It would be nice to have the option of upgrading with my own higher qualithy speaker wires but even if spliced, the inserts into the back of the receiver would not be able to accept a thicker grade wire. It is also limited on the inputs
